Who I am.

I’ve practiced across Alabama, Virginia and Maryland, in departments ranging from busy city hospitals to small community shops and freestanding ERs.

I trained at Emory University (MD, MBA) and completed my emergency medicine residency at Virginia Commonwealth University. Practicing across that spectrum of settings has given me a working view of how care is organized, financed and delivered, without losing sight of the patient in front of me.

Outside the department, I build against problems I encounter repeatedly. The emergency visit is structurally ill-suited for patient education. AFTER is my attempt to address that: a recovery plan that starts in the ER and goes home with the patient, designed to complement primary care, not substitute for it. Notre Monde is closer to home: it began as a way for my wife and children to learn my native language together, and now includes Spanish, German and Portuguese.

The plan starts in the ER.
It shouldn’t end at the door.

AFTER turns discharge into plain-language guides and an on-device recovery tracker. Then it hands the plan to the patient’s Personal Agent, which checks in each day, keeps the record and brings a summary to the follow-up visit. The agent works from a physician-written plan instead of improvising. AFTER receives nothing, and there are no accounts. Built to support primary care, not replace it.

Notre Monde

Learning · Built for family

Built for my family.
Adjustable for yours.

Notre Monde began as a way for my family to learn French together. It is short, calm practice for children, with a separate beginner course for the adults learning beside them. Each family can set it up as its own: its people, ages, favorite places and pace. French came first; Spanish, German and Portuguese have been added. No accounts, and nothing leaves the device.
